I have a 2000 IVS runnng 1800 series software. Every once in a while I have an issue where my VM hunt group, It will go buggy on me.
I have it set up the Pilot to 2500 with 2501,2502...2504 under it. Once in a while when calling from set..to ext 2500, it will just ring.... like it is locked up or something..but if I call 2501,2502,2503,2504...it will release and then when you dial 2500 it will go into the VM system like normal. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Pilot 2500 should be a virtual analog port. There should be a UCD hunt group starting w/ 2500 & the true VM stations. Are you using UCD or busy hunting?

UCD

Now it has really gone bananas....
All stations except 2502 and 2506 are in busy mode..I looked at station status and on the switch and all is well (idle). but dial direct and I get a fast busy...2500 will not go to any number other than 2502 or 2506. I do have it set up as a UCD with 2500 as the Pilot number. No other UCD groups programmed.
Any ideas?

Well, I asked a NEC Guru that I know and he never heard of such a thing...But he told me to check the grounding. That if the system is not properly grounded that all kinds of dumb stuff will happen. So, I checked and added a new ground strap to a steel water pipe, previous ground was to a metal threaded rod to the ladder racking. (NO, I didn't install). I also had to reboot the system. Well all lines answer now and seems to be ok...Has anyone else ever heard of the grounding to cause something like this?

Ditch the ucd group and just use a call hunting group. One possibility with a ucd group is that if the VM doesn't answer for some reason it may put the station into ucd busy out.

No do not use a hunt group!
Rebuild your UCD group, change the UCD group number in CM 172 and still may need to move the pilot. This is a know problem with UCD corruption.

Good Luck,

I too have seen the corruption of my UCD's. Just blow it all away in CMD 170, 171, 172, 17A & 17B <- last two if you have busy announcements. Just go through and check what you had to begin with and MAKE NOTES...

Good luck.
