The documentation is on the NEC support site.

I must have looked in the wrong place because this was all i found in the forums:

System: DS1000/2000
Feature: Door Box
Software: All
Date: 4/23/01

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Problem: Can a single line telephone control the Door Box relay?
Solution: Yes - by doing a normal hookflash when talking to the Door Box. A single line telephone can talk to the Door Box using one of two methods:
By placing an Intercom call to the Door Box extension.
By answering a call from the Door Box, if the SLT is a member of the Door Box Ring Group.
- Note that the Door Box must use ring type 0 in 1801 - Door Chime in order for the SLT to ring for calls from the Door Box.

if it is for the 2000, you will have to use a CO line port and Viking's door box and it should work fine.

Why would NEC only make a door box for the 1000? Anyway Ground thats what im looking at now thanks for the reply.

You may try setting the RELAY on the CPU for paging zone 7 then to open the door do a page in zone 7 and it will operate the strike.

The Viking box works very well, by the way
