I have an opportunity to pick up a customer with
a Nec electra elite 48 system and I have a tech I think can take care of it. I found the system manuals through this site and now I need to know what software, if any, I need to use in a lap top for programming. Will Hyper-term or a vt-100
emulator work or do we need some special NEC software loaded up.
You need special NEC software. The program is called SAT and it is proprietary. The version of SAT that you need is dependent on what software level your 48 is at. Also you will need a MIF-M card to allow pc programming, otherwise you have to do it through the telephone set.
Thanks for the info, my tech will have to do it the old fashioned way.
Can you tell me where to get this software? Also, how can I tell if I have the appropriate card. I have done some programming thru the terminal, but I was told by the previous owner of the system that it was programmed before by a PC. Maybe they meant the voice mail only?
I'd also like to find the SAT software for our Elite 48. is it the kind of think I'd have to get from NEC? I don't think our dealer's in business anymore, and they weren't particularly helpful to begin with.
The phone says software version 665 Q30931, if that means anything. the software may have been upgraded in september 2003, or it might be original from 2000.
there's a little daughter card on the unit with a serial port and a phone port; I presume the serial port is what allows PC access
any info you might have would be helpful.. thanks!
to skippy flipjack:
that is the vmail u are looking at, if this is a elite 48 the 25pin connector is on the backplane, if this is an elite 192 or the ipk the connectors ar on the side
oh and u will need an mifm card
ahh.. that *is* what I was looking for. I misread the original post. I want to be able to do config of the voicemail system, rather than unit programming. can I do this via hyperterm or other term emulation program, and do I use the serial port for this? thanks
u will need the cosessions software, and u will need a null modem cable. the baud rate is 19200, once u get the software
does anyone have a copy of the cosessions software? ours is long gone.. thanks
I don't usually work on NEC but have a client who would like me to add voicemail to an elite 48.
The following would be most helpful: SAT software, cosessions software, and firmware update.
Lee, pm me if you are still looking for this stuff.
