Hi all

Client has an EE192 with voice mail (VMS4-U10). We had a series of brownouts and a 4-day outage last month, plus our power is never very clean anyway, and their system went down hardcore as it often does this time of year. (My home machine lost a drive and CPU this season as well, even behind an admittedly cheap UPS.)

Anyway, the BCLR light is now red full-time and voicemail pilot won't answer.

One option is to try to fix the drive with cosessions, but (a) I don't have a copy and (b) with the power issues I'm not comfortable leaving the client with a 5-yr-old spinning drive, even with a UPS.

I'd like to source a new drive and find a copy of cosessions that would work on it. Any help for either of these quests is much appreciated.

(BTW I already have a copy of SAT, but this box has no port to which I could connect a cable, unless I'm missing something. No network card installed.)

thanks all

sat is for the phone system ONLY. co-sessions is for the vm ONLY.

your local dealer can order one up from nec for you. you probably won't be getting a "hard drive" though. you'll most likely be getting a cf card in a 3-1/2" carrier.

plus you'd be getting all the current updates to the vm as well

Thanks for the quick reply, as always.

We don't have a local dealer, unfortunately. Is there a source online?

thanks

Where is the company the system was purchased from?

San Francisco should have multiple dealers.

DOY, didn't even think to ask NEC, thanks Cram!

The system was purchased from a company in Santa Rosa that no longer exists. I had trouble finding anyone even in the bay area to work on it, thus I have become the "local expert" even though I know virtually zip about phone systems. I'm a Silicon Valley technical writer (full time telecommuter) and have most of a degree in computer engineering, so if anyone in our small town needs a device programmed I'm usually the one they call.

Thanks again to all---if it weren't for this resource I'd be totally sunk!

Not a problem. It was just a thought to find a local NEC dealer or reseller. Hope you find what you are looking for.
