Equip:

Electra Elite 48/192.

S1=COI(4)-U10
S2=OPEN
S3=ESI(8)-U10 (new, added to empty slot)
S4=ESI(8)-U10
S5=ESI(8)-U10
S6=ESI(8)-U10
S7=ESI(8)-U10
S8=FMS/VMS(2/4)-U10

Problem:

Added 8 stations to first empty slot(S3). Programmed slot (7-1) successfully. Had stations 100-135, picked up stations 145-152(??). Ran 4-10 to assign stations. Everything looks great.

Went to wiring block (from 2-25 pr out of EE)where stations are linked, logically the next 8 wiring slots should be hot. They are not. My wiring guy has double checked everything and all looks right.

Have rebooted the system and it just seems that nothing is coming out of EE to these slots on the block.

Should I reboot the system with the battery disconnected?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :banana:

Those stations should be coming out of tail#1 pairs 17-24.

Will check, thanks

also make sure you program the slot 1st before installing the card... if not done as needed.. program it first as none again.. turn the system off and then on.. then do as it is supposed to be

progammed s3 to none. turned off and removed card. Rebooted and programmed to ESI8. turned off installed card, picked up stations 24-31, ran 4-10 assigning stations. Went to wiring block, still no signal. Getting my cable guy to check out P2ii recommendations.

I hate this system, always have.

Make sure the 25 pr tail at connection point into the KSU is pushed in tight. If the bottom is kicked out a little those ports will not come up.

Checked KSU entry point. Everything good and tight. Gave it an extra push. Didn't move any.

Hmmmmmm..............

Do you have any CAR blocks programmed??

Scott.

I assume on CAR blocks you are referring to 4-41, if so then yes, I have checked that and all extensions have same LK2 as green.

1-2-04 memory block was what I was referring to. Does this system have a PKU expansion chip? If not, you may not have enough ports available.

Scott.

A base system 192 is 48 ports total.

16x32 maximum, so it must have a PKU chip since the system had more than 32 stations assigned before he added the new ESi card (32 digital phone ports plus his vm ports).

If the ports are green in 1-2-04 it means they are assigned as CAR (virtual) and not available for use with real desktop ext's.

Go back and look at 7-1 for the card you just assigned, (cabinet 1 slot 3) it will tell you the first port assigned to that card.

Program your ext #'s to those ports in 4-10 then try cross connecting an ext to the yellow/orange pair on the first amp tail ( the one with your CO lines ).

I have a feeling you do not have any stn #'s assigned to the ports on the card in slot 3 and therefore the ext's will not come up.

Scott and Dog....first off, thanks for taking the time to respond.

Checked 1-2-04:

04:CAR ASSIGN:01
LK1 to LK11 - Red
LK12 to LK16 - Off

04:CAR ASSIGN:33
LK1 to LK3 - Red
LK4 to LK16 - Off

04:CAR ASSIGN:65
All LK lines - Off

04:CAR ASSIGN:97
LK1 to LK8 - Off
LK9 to LK16 - Red

Also on S3 - first port is 37 (so 37-44)
S4 - first port is 01 (01-08)
S5 - first port is 09 (09-16)
S6 - first port is 17 (17-23) vm 25-28
S7 - first port is 29 (29-36)

Ran 4-10 Ports 37-44 are assigned stations 131-137.

Haven't installed the cross connection yet, my wiring guy is coming in today or tomorrow. Will let you know of the results.

Thanks again for your help.

Yeeeeefreakin'hawwww.....

FINALLY.

Doghart....you are da' man!!!!

As per your instructions, went to the wiring block.

"Program your ext #'s to those ports in 4-10 then try cross connecting an ext to the yellow/orange pair on the first amp tail ( the one with your CO lines )."

The yellow/orange pair was the first station added (37). This was the last row of blocks on my wiring block.....(duh, check em' all next time).

All is well with the world, although I do have a quick question.

I am using DTU-16D-2 and DTU-8-1 phones, I was given 8 used ETW-8-1's. Needless to say they do not work on the system. Can the 48/192 handle the two different types (DTU & ETU) phones and if so, what is the program block?

I have looked and did not see anything in the manual.

Again, getting the stations hot and properly assigned makes taking off tomorrow for my birthday a huge relief. Thanks again...

The ETW series phones use the Blk/yellow wires at the jack!
Posted By: doghart Re: EE 48/192 Station Expansion Problem - 06/28/07 07:34 PM
T & R is correct.

The older ETW phones will work, you just have to cross connect them to the second pair on the station cable (usually the white/orange) which connects to the yellow/black leads inside each jack.

Kind of a P.I.T.A to keep track of, especially if all your jacks don't have both pairs terminated.

If you don't need to use the ETW's then avoid it.

After reading this post I a PKU expansion is this on the cpu board?
Posted By: dell Re: EE 48/192 Station Expansion Problem - 06/28/07 08:53 PM
The reason I ask is because in 1-2-04 my first 4 line button come up red.
Posted By: scotttoolguy Re: EE 48/192 Station Expansion Problem - 06/28/07 09:44 PM
Yes, it is on the CPU.
