Recently I upgraded two of my many installed DSX-40 sysatems from 2.11 to 2.18 wanting to take advantage of the new features, especially call waiting caller id. Since the upgrade, both systems put out what appears to be DTMF tones during conversation that can be heard at the remote end (the caller to the system but can not be heard at the system end. What is heard at the system end is short interruptions that truncates the conversation momentarily in sync with the tones heard at the remote end. I spoke with tech support and it was suggested that I reboot the system to see if that clears it out which it did not. It's driving me and my customers nuts! Does anyone have a clue as to what's happening here? I need a resolution.

thanks,

First check program 2143-05 (record conversation beep) and COS 1401-06 (record conversation). Turn these off, make test calls to see if tone is still present. I have run into issues with earlier software on DS1000/2000 where the system arbitrarily starts recording any conversation on its own.

Second option, install software version 2.14 (pretty much same features as 2.18 except for ICM and flash key availability and call waiting enhancements).
