IPK,
I'm sure you have but asking anyway, have you dialed the pager number using your butt set or phone, timed the length needed for the call back number to be entered and see what the timers are set in the Inmail setup?
Posted By: IPKII Re: SV8100 InMail - 12/06/08 11:22 AM
Yes, I have already played with that timer.

Btw, my SV8100 is at ver 2.0. I was informed by NTAC there is a bug regarding the internal modem on the PZVM-21 card.

If I could just get thru to the InMail guys...

IPK II,
Inmail introduced in the IPK II came from Intra mail of the Aspire side and I believe was developed by a company called CTL not Active voice. Since there are changes to Inmail with the SV8100 I guess it is possible Active voice got involved with it.

I suspect unlikly. Talking to a AV guy from AU this year they seemed a little miffed that NEC had included the Inmail in the IPK2 and SV8100 system rathwr than their mails only..

Both InMail for IPK II and IntraMail for Aspire were developed in-house by NEC (AV is responsible for InMail NTAC only).

IPKII, how are you monitoring the CO Line?
When you say you're back in the same mailbox, what exactly do you hear from InMail at this point?
Posted By: IPKII Re: SV8100 InMail - 12/09/08 05:49 AM
I am monitoring the CO line with my butt-set. I hear the SV8100 go off-hook, dial the pager service, I hear the pager service answer, then I hear 2-3 seconds of MOH, then I hear the recorded name & canned prompt to leave a message in this same subscriber box. I never hear the SV8100 output the dial string from 47-01-07, which, I have also tried to manipulate, as well...

I have worked on Vanguard mail sold for use on the Nitsuko product line and Prophet voice sold as generic, both used the same software developed by CTL. Intra mail also uses the same software and came to market 2 years before Inmail. NEC had to engineer their phone systems software to work with the Intra mail and Inmail software but they did not develop it.

When you are dialing the pager number, is the system going out a second trunk (trunk-to-trunk transfer), or are you using the telco's "Call transfer" (CENTREX) feature? The problem you are describing is identical to the issue I've run into where the customer subscribes to "Conference Calling" feature from the telco, but does not subscribe to "Call Transfer" or "Three way calling with transfer". Often times the customer has this feature on line one only.... not all of their lines.

Can you go across the line you were monitoring with your butt set, make a call to you cell phone, then transfer the call via the butt set to your office number? Does this test call work properly?

eriway, the 8100 is just grabbing a CO line from trunk group 1. It does sound like the system is trying to hook flash & transfer the call somewhere, but, why? This is just "simple" pager notification.

To set the record straight, IntraMail (and later InMail) were developed entirely by the Shelton engineering team. The only thing they have in common with the CTL products is some of the voice prompts and menus. (This was by design to unify the voice mail lineup.)

We introduced IntraMail on the DS-Series and later ported the software to Aspire and IPK-II. DSX has a much improved, feature-rich version which is now on the UX5000 and SV8100.

That's all very good information, however, I still have a problem with it.

Perhaps you can assist me with this issue, DSX Deus?

I can't help you with your NTAC wait time, but we are looking at your pager problem. We may have some follow-up questions. Stay tuned...

we were having the exact same issue I believe and got it corrected by removing the "9" from the system dial settings and just include it in the dialstring in the mailbox.

helpful I hope...... ???

doghart, was that in 10-02-05 & did you have to re-key the speed dial entries when you did that? Also, how did it affect CID call return?

This is on our company's vmail and our "on call" mailbox out to 3 different tech's mobile phones.

Just notif. of msg. Not tried CID return... sorry.
