I can't find any reference to this in the manual. It is 14. when I Feature and hit button it says 06:2:00

Is it really a live record? The lamp is lit on all phones all of the time.

Any help appreciated.

We would need to know the system type in order to assist as that phone type can be used on multiple NEC systems, each with different feature sets.

06=Button, 02=Voice Mail, 00=Live Record, If it is Lit all the Time it means that the Voice Mail is Busy, How Many ports of Voice Mail do you Have? If you have People Retreving MSG's and auto attn. and Recording, Thats why it red.

It's also possible one of your voicemail ports is stuck on....

But to answer your original question... YES XX:2:00 is a live record key.
