I have a UX5000 our company acquired from one of our customers. We primarily deal with NEC SV8100's but I have noticed that programming is almost identical. I am wondering if a NEC UX5000 CCPU will work in an NEC SV8100 9.5" chassis. I have tried and the CPU LED's keep cycling each one turns on then off in a row, but can't access PBX via PcPro or WebPro using default IP address 192.168.0.10 any ideas?

LOL. Well the reason the programming is almost the same is the SV8100 is a dark grey UX5000. You should be able to get on the ntac site. I THINK the chassis are identical and I know you can put an sv8100 processor in a ux cabinet. The IP address could have been changed and you will need to go in through a phone to see what it is. This is of course assu8ming teh PW hasn't been changed either. Best bet, go to the ntac support.

I meant to try it before I left yesterday but ended up working 'till 9:30PM last night on a monstrous cutover.

So, I haven't tried it. Usually UX parts work in the SV8100 and we use UX parts on occasion in SV's, mainly temp. But, we don't go the other direction.

I'm "almost" sure the IP's are the same. 192.168.0.10 for the eth port (don't remember the IP port default if installed)

Can you ping that address? That will tell you right away.

You certainly can default the UX5000 without a password. I've done that many times. Then it WILL be the default IP for sure.

You might be able to install an IP daughter board on the CCPU if you don't want to default the UX for some reason. That way you SHOULD get a known IP on the new card

The chassis circuitry is indeed different between the two platforms. You can use the Aspire, and UX phones on the SV8100 platform with software 4.0 and above but you can not use the DT series on the UX. There are certin blades (Router,Server and switch ) that recognize which chassis is which and won't work accross the platforms.

Most likely the CPU IP address was changed and if you have an IPLA daughterboard in there the CPU IP address was probably set to 0.0.0. by the installer as that is NTAC's advice when using VoIP. Like stated above you can change it via phone programming or default it and lose everything and go to default.

I meant to followup earlier, but I (actually another person in our company found it) was able to locate a "level 1" password for the UX5000 too - have you tried that ?

So far for us, every UX5000 (like the SV8100) we are locked out of, this password has worked

(we are now changing all of our UX5000's level 1 passwords now too)
