UM8000, SV8100, and Exchange 20010.

I am trying to get my voice mails forwarded as .wav files to my email. I can configure it in Mailbox Manager, but the voice mails never arrive. But I can't figure out how to configure the email settings at System\Configuration\Email Settings -- eg, the outgoing email server, authentication information, global email address, etc. We have a local Exchange 2010 server, and I've tried every possibility I can think of for the outgoing mail server name -- the host name, the fqn, even the IP address, but I always get a message indicating the name could not be resolved.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

You need the exchange server FQDN or the IP address, what port to connect (typically 25 for Exchange), and you need to have UM licenses.

Did you purchase UM licenses with your voicemail? You need one per user.

You also need to have the email settings configured in the options menu of your mailbox settings.

This is probably best left to I.T. staff and your installer/service tech.

The UM8000 doesn't need a license for email delivery only port licenses.

Have a look at these two tech notes that may help

North America the UM8000 comes licensed for 5 seats for the voice mail to email, if more seats are needed additional license need to be purchased.

North America is 5 seats for IMAP or unified messaging. The SMTP is available.

Same as down here. SMTP is free. We hardly ever sell any UM8000 on the 8100 these days due to problems with installers trying to get them to go and the InMail is good enough for 99% of installs and now with DeskTop Suite integration to InMail..
From my experience the UM8000 unified messaging has not worked correctly since Outlook 2003.

Thank you for the links!

I'm not sure what's going on; I'm getting "Unable to resolve the outgoing e-mail server DNS name" on the UM8000 e-mail settings page, even when I enter the server's ip address rather than the dns name. I can telnet to the server OK on port 25. The server is on the same subnet. I don't think the installer configured DNS on the UM8000, but I don't think that should be necessary if I specify the IP address directly, should it?

You'll have to access the UM8000 with Putty to view the IP configuration.

Once in there you can view the TCPIP settings and the DNS info and change it if needed.
