Is it possible to assign the same number to 2 ports. The system tells me no, but I am wondering if there is a workaround for this. Our HR person sits at our other building on Thursdays and doesn't want to have manually forward and un forward her phone on that day. Can anyone give me a suggestion on how to best handle this?

You probably have an SV8100. Easiest way is to create call coverage key for the primary ext on the other extension.

I apologize at my ignorance, but can you direct me to how this is done?

In CMD 15-07, key data, assign a CAR/SIE (call arrival/secondary incoming extension)key to a button. The CAR/SIE will be the number of the extension that you want appearing on the other phone.
EX: you want x-299 to appear on a button on station 200.
Go to 15-07, bring up station 200, then place CAR/SIE 299 on a line key.

You will probably want to make it ring as well in 15-09
