Anybody done the 8100 to 9100 migration? Doing one this week and wondering if there are any "gotchas" to watch out for.

Should be straight forward in theory,
load migration license into 9100
convert 8100 database via PcPro
upload converted database

The main gotchya is if the 8100 has SIP trunks and you do a database conversion. If you're doing a migration with the old line cards it gets expensive. The main issue down here has been that people forget that the licensing has changed and you can't reuse the old ones. The main thing that people forget about is the voicemail user license is now per mailbox not per port... We have not done any hardware migrations as it works out cheaper unless you're a hotel or have lots of station cards to buy and install a complete new system.

its pretty much as you described. again watch out for SIP trunk configuration and licencing.

If you've done the sv8100 to sv9100 online migration course it's really no problem at all.

The different licensing was the only thing that tripped me up on the first few I did.

One other thing that has tripped up up here on a few sites recently is a DSP All Busy alarm appearing on IP phones. Turns out you have to put in the DSP number in license 5103 into PRG 10.54.01.
