Hello all,

We have recently configured a SIP trunk (through flowroute.com) and everything seems to be working fine, except we have an issue with DTMF.

If 84-13-32 is set to "Disabled" we can pass DTMF on outgoing calls, however, we can't receive DTMF when someone calls into our system (Dial by name won't work for example).

If 84-13-32 is set to "RFC2833" then the effect is reversed. We can receive DTMF just fine but it won't work on outgoing calls.

The only other setting that could have an affect on this is probably 84-13-31 "DTMF Payload Number" but I'm not exactly sure what to change this value to.

Has anyone came across this issue? I would appreciate any help.

What software level is in the system? NEC added FAX pass through on ver 5. Not sure if that is what you need. Also try a g.711 codec.

I changed the "DTMF Payload Number" (84-13-31) to 101 from the default 110 and DTMF now works in both directions. 84-13-32 is set to RFC2833.

While it's fixed, I would like to know what those numbers mean, why did 101 make DTMF tones work.
