Hello, need help on how to program the CCR of the NEC SV8100.
I was able to direct all incoming calls to the main greeting but cannot figure-out on how to distribute the options like press 1, press 2 etc..

Thanks in advance.

Which VM do you have? Inmail CF chip, or a UM-8000 VM blade?
Inmail is done through dial action tables. UM-8000 through one key dialing.

Hi Helpifican,

Thanks for your prompt response.
It's an Inmail CF chip. Are you able to provide instruction or guide on how to set it up?

Many thanks.

I was hoping there's a way on the programming to do it as i find it more simple doing a CCR via the system programming than from the phone unit.

thanks much.

Not sure, but I believe the 8100 is similar to the SL1100, whose Dial Action Table is at 47-13.

Thanks Mickamg. will check it out when i have the chance. So, there's no way to do it through the system programming?...and i'm limited via the dial action table?

Thanks again.

Hi Jim, i was onsite yesterday and there's no program 47 there...only 41, 45 then 84. Have tried 3 several logins but to no avail. Unless i have to do the programming over the phone which i am not familiar.

Kindly advise.
Thanks.

you need the log in information for tech, you were in the admin1 or admin2 which does not allow access to 47

Are there any passwords that have access to program 47-13?
Thanks.

I was able to program 47-13 with the proper access login.

Now, client wants to route 2 phones for each option and wants to ring all phones if there's no one in a specific option is unable to pick-up the phone. In short, client wants to make sure all calls are being picked-up by a live person and does not route to a vmail.

Example:
Option 1 (Sales), rings ext.101 and 102
Option 2 (Marketing, rings ext.103 and 104
Option 3 (Cust. Svc), rings ext.105 and 106

If no one is able to pick-up a call from any of the options after say 20secs, call should be routed to ring all ext. 101 to 106.

I understand I need to create a ring group and set-up what happens after 20secs to ring all phones.
Need help here.
Thanks again.

I would suggest that you have your three options route to virtual extension numbers. Put a call coverage (virtual extension) button on the two phones you want to ring and they will both ring when that option is selected. Put buttons to those virtuals on the other four phones as well - but set them to delayed ring.

So when the caller selects option 1 - you have an unscreened transfer to a virtual number (i.e. 255) then extensions 101 and 102 which have that programmed on a button will start ringing immediately. The other four extensions which have 255 programmed as virtual with delayed ring, will start ringing after whatever time you set.

You could do this for the other two options as well - simply using different virtual numbers.

Any time I do some sort of custom ringing setup on NEC equipment - it seems simplest to use virtual extensions.

That said, there are many on this board far more experienced and wiser than I - so if someone has a better solution, please post.

thanks toolie, will try this on my next onsite.

any other suggestions from other NEC techs?

I would do just as Toolie described as well. Use Virtual ext's and ring and delay ring them to the appropriate buttons associated on the other extensions. and create MBX for each one so they can time out to a MBX if you don't answer.
