Can anyone here confirm with me the number of system ports the UX5000 supports out of the box? I know the SV8100 supported 64 ports, but you had to get a port license upgrade when going beyond 64. I have a customer with a UX5000 and they are wanting to add a PRI card and I am just wanting to double check to make sure they won't run out of system ports when we add the card. They currently do not have any expanded port licenses.
Default 64. Don't even know if you can get the license anymore. Tech support ended some time back.
See what system cards are slotted, add them up including voicemail ports. This will tell if you have enough ports available.
I think the licenses are still available if you are a registered NEC dealer. I think the other possibility would be to change the processor to the 9100 and then purchase the licence. I have a ton of UX5000s in the field that I continue to support as they aren't even close to 10 years old yet. Not NEC's finest hour in my opinion - when they pulled the rug out from under the UX5000.

Not sure why NEC decided to pick up Nitsuko in the first place

Because it was a better product? The problem is that the SV8100 and IPK took the advice of the NEC side and for a LONG time was severely inferior to the UX and Aspire. I still hate CAP keys FWIW.
Thanks for the info guys, it looks like I have enough ports in the system.
