Hi guys,
Has anyone done a lot of work with the TIS16 S2. I don't normally work with the in skin voicemails, but thought I would have a play around.

One thing I want to do is create some "Memo mailboxes". With this, I set a DID to go straight to voicemail and go to it's own mailbox. This box is then setup to send vm to email, and that works fine. What I am wondering, is what happens to the messages. If no one ever logs into the mailbox to listen, and only receive the emails, the VM is going to fill up pretty quick. Can you auto-clear messages or mailboxes?

Also, has anyone got a way to record greetings and the like via an external device? That is, we have some greetings proffessionaly recorded, and we want them to be on the system in good quality, rather than just through a phone handset.

And finally (for the moment), the MOH port on the voicemail. How to I get a pre-recorded program onto it?

Thanks

Hello OzTech,

Just checking this late night... I will answer your questions tomorrow.

For a MOD : this should be moved to the Voice Mail forum.

Thanks!

Do you know if the voicemail is jsut a TIS 16 or the TIS 16 series 2 or 3, I have not messed with the series 2 or 3 , let me look through the manual and check some things

Hi guys,
Sorry it was in the wrong forum. I don't know if it matters, but it is the Toshiba in-skin version (I don't know if there are others) and it is the TIS series 2.

I can't imagine it is that much difference to the older version, the programming seems to be very backwards and old school.

If it is a TIS it is not a Toshiba in skin(IES is the Toshiba) , it is a Teleco in skin , the only manual I have is for the original TIS and it doesn't have the audio outputs on it, and you have to record the greetings through a phone. Teleco's website doesn't have the series 2 or 3 manuals.

The audio files have to be stored somewhere on the flash drive. I dont know where or what type of format they are in but I would think it would be possible to replace those files with professionally recorded files of the same format and/or file name. You may want to give Teleco a call, they should be able to give you a more defenite answer. As for the "memo" voiemail deletion, there may be an option to "delete on send" so that once it is sent to an email address, it is deleted out of the voicemail box. I know the Toshiba iES32/16 in-skin voicemails have this option, again, Teleco im sure can provide you with more defenite answers to these questions.

You might try to contact a member on here " p2ii " he works for Teleco and might help you out.

The MOH/BGM files can be stored in 8-KHz (or 16-KHz ADPCM on supporting hardware). Our ADPCM format is non-standard (i.e. not Dialogic, Microsoft, DVI/IMA, etc), so getting professional recording houses to produce a file in this format is troublesome.

They are in the directory d:\mesg>
Files are moh.rms and bgm.rms

As for the question regarding the vm to email, it will not send and then delete but you can set new messages to expire in a day. Which will clewar them. In screens and go into that mailbox and on the second page bottom right you will see "newmesg expiration" set that to 1b and it will be deleted 1 day after it is left. Hope that works for you.
