I have a customer who was sold a Verizon FlexGrow from their old vendor. (and then went out of business). This vendor had put in an order for the Flexgrow IAD and had them purchase an Adtran 750. The Flexgrow will be replacing their 12 POTS lines.
Can anyone give me advice about using an Adtran 750 with a flexgrow or other type of PRI like line?
Will the Adtran work? Who decides where the DIDS will be on the the Adtran(which FXS) the telco or me? Besided a new block do I need anything else?

Hopefully I have posted in the correct forum.

Thanks,
JL

I have quiet a bit of experience with Integrated Access Services from a couple different perspectives… Unfortunately, none with Verizon’s practices.

Here are a couple things that can help ya get started… I HOPE anyway.

First note… Integrated Access Service is NOT PRI like… It’s a channelzed T1 with both voice and data but there is NO PRI signaling and/or formatting to it.

Adtran T/A 750:

Adtran also has a GREAT web-site and a good technical support line.

I think you might want to call the sales person at VZ that initiated the order, if that is not possible call the buisness office and ask them who is responsible for the IAD when using VZ's Flexgrow service. Reason being is that when I went through training (here's a book and our product is far superior to any other IAD) three years ago, VZ supplied and installed the IAD made by XEL and handed the DT off to the sub on an rj21x and the data was handed off on the rj45 built into the "Shark". If this is stil the case I don't see why you would need the Adtran unit. You would just jumper the voice ckts over to your phone system like you would any other pots line. It is still a pots line just a different way of delivering it.

Xel is now known as Verilink

I liked the Adtran IAD's waaaaaay better than the Sharks myself... and Either one can or could be cabled out to a RJ-21X
