We moved a customer to a new site Thursday and had to extend a T-1 from the 1st to 4th floor. Circuit would not come up but would loop back. Customer CG told me we needed to run cat5 vice cat3 for circuit extension and I explained 300 plus feet of circuit extension would need an adjustment from the telco. A repair ticket was issued and the telco did some tweeking. Circuit popped right up on the CSU!

There are CPE wiring adjustments that can be made. The base (default) setting is 0-133 feet and can be adjusted in three more levels to compensate for longer runs. Take that, you CG!

And CAT5 doesn't do squat for T1 service. :bang: Some people.

300 foot with the correct lbo should not have been a problem. If it was, telco has a pronlem for sure.

Typical Line Build Outs for T-1s are:

0-133
133-266
266-399
399-533
533-655

After 655 feet you need to put a repeater on it.
