Hi.

What is the absolutely cheapest fiber optic switch you can buy. I can't believe how expensive those Cisco ones are. I am looking for something more economical for large number of ports.

For example, no my traditional network, I have Dell and trendnet switches not Cisco or foundry.

Is there any company you know of that makes very cost effective fiber optic switches?

Thanks.
Netgear makes some pretty good fiber switches at a decent price.

Fiber optic cable switches or normal switches?

Thanks.

Sorry, let me rephrase. Are the netgear fiber switching actually 100% fiber switching or do you mean traditional switch with the ability to handle a few fiber connection for long distance connections.

Do you have a model number I can research?

Thanks.

Switching just at layer 2?

What media? GigE? 10G?
Just SX/MM, or do you need to possibly mix other optics in?

Fixed form factor, or do you want something that takes GBICS or SFPs/SFP+/XFPs/whatever?

If you could tell us what problem you're trying to solve, that would help.
