How can you tell if an individual's station has been given the capability to monitor, in an un-announced manner, an active call at another station (via service observing or privacy release)? Can you tell this by going to the person's station that you suspect has the capabilities and, if so, what would you look for? Thank you!!!

Look at the programming and it will tell you if they have it. Also go to the phone and see if you can pick up on other peoples calls. But the programming will tell you for sure.

Thank you for your help. We did do some detective work today and we confirmed that the person we suspected was listening to our conversations has "Service Observing" programed on his station. To test it -all we did from his station was select intercom, #, 0, 3 and the extension number of the station of which had an active call and it worked. His jig is up....he won't be hearing anymore of our phone conversations. Thanks again!
