Is this phone going to work for an office of 18 phones and 10 phone lines. Does it fall short of being able to move into the future? Give me your opinion on this phone

I'm a comdial dealer and just became an nec dealer. The system I sold from comdial was the dx80. It's very feature rich, super easy to use, and one of the most affordable systems out there. It's supposed to have voip capibilities in the near future. I think that the dx80 is perfect for small businesses(3-10 phones)when companies are looking to keep the costs down. In my opinion, compared to other phones, the dx80 phones are weak, both in looks and in stability. Alright, their just cheap! I would actually feel kind of weird going out on a sales call when I was competing with systems like avaya or nortel, their phones are rock solid. If comdial made different phones for the dx80, I would definately continue to sell them. As far as comdial goes, I would go with the FXII, very strong, feature rich & is definately ready for anything you may need in the future. Its a great system, but it doesn't come at a cheap price.
You might want to look at NEC DS2000(depending on you future needs), system seems rock solid and is in the same price range as the dx80.

I've lost count on the number installed! All have been single cabs though many have been maxed in 8x16x8. The analog integration is good. Many sites are vm equipped. One site does after hours dispatching thru vm! I have returned one cab a two phones. I gave two year warranties when Comdial was doing one. Now Comdial is three years! A modem is always installed along with a UPS. A digital cordless is on the horizon with a Windows program interface. Loop start lines is all it will do. For it's targeted audience it's a solid inexpensive system.

If your starting with 10 lines and 18 phones, what will be your projected growth over 7 to 10 years? You should do your projections then look at systems that will meet or beat that capacity.

I like and have sold a lot of DX80 systems and I like them and I don't think they look or act "cheap" but that's just my opinion.
Most of these systems are pretty equal in abilities and endurance, Id rely more on the projections for size.

As a company that repairs a lot of Comdial telephones, I am dismayed at the declining quality and durability of all of their newer telephones.
In my humble opinion, the quality of parts and manufacture of the 8324 and the DX-80 telephones is that they are GARBAGE! My children have toys that are more durable and better put together.
Considerring the durability of their older systems, they sure have fallen fast and far.
