I wanted to know if there was anyway to change the com ports in PCDBA remote programming to anything else besides com1 or com2. I just got a new dell laptop and the modem is on com port 3.

I don't believe you can on the current A33 version. I am field trialing the f39 windows software and that does allow the change of comm ports.

After further thought you may want to look at adding a USB to serial adapter. The one I use is a Belkins. Don't know the model number as the label has fallen off. Last check there were 3 approved USB to serial converters. Good luck.

I use one from cablestogo.com and it can be adjusted to use any com port. It has worked fine for me but I don't use it for remote, only direct connect.
I'd be interested to hear of your experience's with remote programming the DX80. Any headaches?

I do quite a bit of remote work on 80's. No problems yet!

I've not had any problems programming remotely. It works pretty good. It's nice to be able to program remotely with keylink and PCDBA.

J or Ctaylor,
If either of you guys have a "cheat sheet" on the steps to set the DX80 up for remote pcdba & keylink could you email it to me? I'd like to have it on file and maybe set it up here to play with. If you already have it that will save me some time. Thanks,
mark
