Hello again!....

I need to hook up a cordless-(analog),,,I need this phone to essentially be a bridged appearence ( ok..I am using avaya terms here) of another set. SO I will have a digital set and an anlog which will both ring when I call the DID for this digital set, and also when i call the extension of the digital.....
Thanks in advance for your help...

Comdial doesn't do that. Tell me what system you have and I'll tell you what to do to get an analog extention that you can program to ring on that line, but you can't "bridge" the digital ports or the older 4 wire station ports. Sorry.

Mark is right about Comdial not working that way. You stated that you have DID so I guess you have a DXP or FX product. If you have 15A software or higher you can use the ring monitor feature and get very close to what you are looking for. This feature was also in a very rare version of software called 13W

It is a fx-II with software version 17...there is an analog extension set up doing this for another station. I tried to look in programming to try and copy the set up...coming from an avaya/nortell background I am using that terminology...but yes..the situation is a user has a digital 24 button set...she wants a cordless to be able to walk around and still answer lines that come to her station, as well as be able to transfer those calls. thanks again guys

That's the way I was going to steer you. Cmdl Guy might have a better idea, I'm not sure how that ring thing he mentions works.

Program an analog port on the system to ring on the lines she needs to answer, make sure the set has a flash key for transfering. I don't think there is a way for her to know what line she is answering though. And don't give the analog set a VM box.

Ring monitor feature will work good in this application.

The other way is to put a call foward button on her phone. When she goes to leave her office she hits the cfwd all button and fowards her call to that station. You can have that cordless phone programmed to forwarded to voicemail after 1 - 6 rings. If she does not get the call it will go to her digital phone mailbox.

I have used ring monitor for this application on numerous occasions. It works quite well. The ring monitor program is done on the station being monitored, which in your case would be the digital phone. Another nice thing about using this feature is that people need only know one extension number, and also this keeps all of your voicemails at one location. To provide for a little redundancy in programming, you could setup a VM box for the cordless, then have it auto forward all messages to the digital extension. This would be in case someone calls your cordless directly. One thing to keep in mind: If someone only has a DSS button for the digital, they will not know when you are on the cordless. They would need a 2nd DSS button for your cordless.
