I have a customer that has about 30 sys. speed dial with their dx80(A33). Problem is that every so often when they press the key(or code) for spped dial it gives them dead air and the call doesn't always go through. Any thoughts?

try putting a pause in as the first digit.

CAP:

1. Are the speed dials programmed to dial a "9" for that CO group??
2. If so, perhaps there is an "empty" port included in your group--and everytime the group is accessed and that particular port is the next one open---dead air.
Good Luck

the system tries to dial out using line one first and works through the lines. If a line port is vacant is tries to dial then shows the "no loop current" on the LCD. That could be it. I just checked it here.

Basically what happens is when they enter the sys. dial code or feature key they get silence no matter what. They never hear the system dialing the number. Sometimes it goes through, sometimes it doesn't.

if it's trying to dial the LCD screen should show the number it wants to dial. Do you get that? I'd put a known good co. line DN in front of the speed dial, like 740 - 741 etc.. and a pause, and see if it grabs a trunk and goes.

The number does show on the lcd. Adding a pause sounds like a good possible solution.
