I have a new install at a Dr.'s office; (dx-80 f39 w/8port vm) they want a menu option to page the on-call physician. What's my best approach? They really don't want the patient to leave a message and let pager notification page the Dr. as this would cause him to make 2 phone calls. They have call transfer from their co and I thought maybe I could transfer the caller to the pager number. Any ideas appreciated!

If you have call transfer ability from the co line. I would approach it that way. You are going to need the full understanding on how the voicemail and phone system work but it can be done. I have it set up on a couple of different customers. Just keep in mind there will be some silence time while being transferred. The telco does not provide MOH.
