Any ideas on integrating an FXII to a Norstar? Don't leave out the possibility of upgrading to the MP5000 to use a SIP solution. I'm open to all suggestions. Right now, the customer is looking for a solution to use his Nortel router that splits a T-1 for voice and data, and dynamically gives data the unused bandwidth from the voice side, when those channels are available. Basically, they want a solution for calling extensions on both systems, and transferring calls across. They will likely maintain 2 different voicemail systems. The systems are physically located in two different towns.

I have several sites connecting MP5000s and FXIIs to an Option 61 Nortel PBX. I had to use standard T1 tie lines but have not tried it to a Norstar.

RBF: Are you doing this with point-to-point T1 or over some IP setup? I'm looking at tryng to do something with T1 gateways but the things are rather expensive for experamenting. Audiocodes and multitech both have the gateways.

I'm just using point to point T1's with the Nortel using coordinated dialing plan to route DIDs to the MP5000s and FXIIs. FRom the Comdial side I have buttons programmed on the phones to preselect line group of the tie line thus getting Nortel dial tone and dialing the extension on the PBX. I have been able to route from MP5000 to the Option 61 and thru to a FXII or Comdial thru the Option 61 to an out of town Option 21. The Nortel's are in the process of being deinstalled and replaced with MP5000s all around.
