Got a customer with the flash VM. When you go into mailbox 101 it tells the number of messages and the associated options. When you press 1 to listen to the first message it plays the name file for mailbox 102 then reverts back to the "you have x message press 1 .....".
Mailbox and routing boxes all have the correct entries. I'm sure this is due to a corrupted file, but which one?

When you access the MB to get messages, after it tells you there is 1 new message, press 9 this should take you to the new message with no further entries required. While doing this, have keylink open to the "Display line status" window, watch the event flow next to the port status. Tell me what it displays during the message retrieval. I've not seen this before, but the information there may point us to the correct file issue if that's what it is.

Mark - going back to customers premise tomorrow am. Will let you know what status window shows.

Status screen only showed normal flow when mailbox was accessed.
I deleted the mailbox and recreated it and everything is OK, the only problem is the user had 18 messages (old and new) in her mailbox and I had to loose them.
I hate it when I can't locate the actual problem - perhaps with more time I could have, but customers don't want to pay for a tech to perform exhaustive diagnostics.

all's well that ends well. Did you try going in to get the messages through the supervisor MB?

Yes, but obtained same error.

UPDATE - I got called back to customer's site for the same trouble. Ran scandb82 against database and it corrected the error, could not recreate error while on premise. Two days later customer called and said trouble had returned. This time I loaded a virgin copy of the VM files and reloaded "dvm" files, greetings and name files. I truly believe this has corrected the problem, but I will update in a few days with a status.

There is nothing on the CCC about this issue. No tech Docs or action procedure.

Mark, I was instructed by tech support to perform these procedures. They have a utility (8510.exe) which will copy a virgin set of vm files onto the flash card. You will need flash card reader/writer capability on your laptop for this to work.
The guy at tech support has never seen this type of trouble before.
BTW - the VM failed again the next day. This time I loaded the virgin files onto the flash card and only copied the backup of the greetings and name files to the flash card. I logged in with keylink and rebuilt all the VM parameters (whew!).
It has been functioning ok for 3 days now, I will post another update in a few more days and let you know the outcome.

It is still working normally. This last procedure obviously corrected the problem
