I have a client that is running a dx-80 system with five incoming lines and eight extensions. The problem is that the original installer refuses to release the pcdba software or even the manual to the box! The only documentation he gave is the manual for the phones. This is NOT leased equipment. Since my client ownes the system, I don't understand why he doesn't have rights to the documentation and/or software.

He asked me if I could help him because he would like to add two more extensions due to expansion. I maintain his computer system and have a few years experience in telephony. Is there any way someone can help me with my problem?

The mainboard in the box has a cmos chip with E.F01 printed on it, and a surface-mounted chip with F15 printed on it.

Thanks,

The installer has no right to withhold a manual or admin software program to you if you own the equipment. Although F15 is an older revision for the DX-80, there is definately a PC-DBA program floating around out there, not to mention in the box your installer took your equipment out of. Manuals are in great supply for a DX-80. I'm sure a Comdial Mod will jump in here pretty quickly, otherwise see if there is another dealer in your area that will sell you a system manual and get you a CD. I could get you a manual, but I don't have PC-DBA for that revision. Good luck.
