Tech support has stated that they haven't heard of this problem. I have 3 DX-120 systems that intermittently have one or more station sets that will switch by themselves to military time. They may switch back after making a call or clear itself the next day when the time rolls over again.

Anybody else have this issue? Tech support says they haven't heard of this but I've spoken to a couple of other dealers that have. Any ideas. I never saw this on the DX-80 or on any other TECOM system.

Thanks, Bill.

I've not seen it yet but I'm sure I will. You have been real good at bringing these issues to light. Keep us posted.

Have seen it twice..always assumed the customer changed the system time format by accident.

So far I haven't seen it system wide, only on individual stations.

I ran into it two weeks ago on an older version (F39 or before) DX-80 with two cabinets. Extension 139, by itself, went to military time. I did some research, found nothing--then reset phone. That fixed it.

Had the same issue with one here. Customer said that it changes then goes back on its own. Have never seen it happen. It is only be reported by one user on that system.

It must be an undocumented feature.

Good answer!

Spoke to Comdial Product manager about this last week. They are aware of it and are working on a fix.

Support had me send them some data files from systems that are experiencing the issue.

We have also figured out that extension 110 using an 8 port expansion card has a problem with military time and buttons that light up for no apparent reason. We are not sure if the 16 port expansion card has this issue with 110.

Definitely a weird problem.

Thanks for the update. Let us know if you learn of any other aspects of the problem.

Also, if anyone happens to have a 16-port card with this problem, let us know. It would be nice to be able to predict where this problem will pop up, until they come out with a fix.

Interesting that this came up. We just became aware of this issue. Our phones are in fact on an 8 port expansion card.

I'm experiencing the same issue with port/extension 110 having its buttons light up for no reason on the 8-port expansion card on a new DX-120 system. I already unassigned the features and swapped out phones. It might be a coincidence its port 110 as your problem is, but I'm suspecting a dirty phone jack (an upside down mounted wall jack that's been there at least 15 years) or a bad cable that is causing noise (I've seen a Progressive Electronics toner cause a DX-80 phone's buttons to light up). I replaced the wall jack and used the spare paris...will see what happens for a week.

I think you're going to find this to be a design flaw. I now have three systems with the 8 port board and extension 110 screwed up.

So this is all happening on DX120 extension 110, when using the DPM8? It's not shown up on DX80, other than the one JWRacedog ran across with the extension in the DX80 KSU2?
Posted By: JWRacedog Re: DX-120 military time. - 06/09/07 12:56 PM
Yep--and that happened on a system that's been up and running for about 5 years. Go figure.
Posted By: aweaver Re: DX-120 military time. - 06/12/07 07:50 PM
We are seeing it on extensions other than 110.

This should probably move to the installers forum.
Delron, aweaver, do you guys have access to that forum? If you do I'd like to move the thread there.

This thread will be left here so it can be found by a search engine looking for an answer to this situation. That is by popular opinion in the Mod forum.

I haven't had any problems with ext 110 anymore, might have been a bad pair or dirty wall jack after all.

No other problems with six other DX-120 systems using both the 8 port and 16 port cards for ext 110.

My experience is reversed. I now have another system that's having this trouble on 101, 105 and 106.

I had this probem on 141 (first port of the 2nd cabinet).
