One more issue and I am done with this install! MP5 Pri. We need to ring multiple stations when a call comes in, got that figured out using groups. however, I cant get it to go to vmail after 4 rings. Any ideas or am I setting the wrong thing?

Also, another phone will need to be able to have a button to pick that call up as well, but NOT ring when it comes in (there is a phone that they can hear outside of thier office to know when it rings).

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hopefully carrier will figure that if we sign up for 6000 free LD minutes that we actually want LD on the circuit frown ....Stupid carriers.

You should be able to use overflow timer in hunt group to voice mail. Check your pilot number and voice mail ID fields. It may be simpler to use ring monitor and shared group intercom keys for the user. Put all ringing phones plus the one that wants to pick up the calls in the same call pickup group and give the set a GPKUP key.

Thanks RBF. I now have it going to vmail afer 4 rings (20 sec) but it is not ringing all stations in hunt group. I have my settings as ring all so not sure why it is not ringing the other 2 stations.

Also, when they transfer a call to an extension it rolls to vmail just fine when they do not answer, but if the user is on the phone it continues to say "please hold while i transfer your call". This happens if I dial extension from main greeting or if the receptionist answers and manually transfers.

ugh...nver had i had so many problems with an FXII - maybe its an MP5 thing. But, among the things posted, i also notice that the DSS console will not light for the intercom buttons.

So my list is:

1: Hunt group: will nto ring ANY phones, does wait for the overflow timer and will overflow to the extension/voicemail. i have no ideas left on why the extensions will not ring when in a hunt group and not defined as an overflow.

2: When someone is on the phone it will not forward to vmail. However, if the are not on the phone and just don not answer it forwards to vmail with no issues.

3: Console will not light up when user is on extension. The shift key lights but nothing else. Kinda stops it from being a BLF smile

4: One DID is ringing busy somehow. Havent't looked in to that one!

Oh, and this is all on a T1-PRI using DID's and a brand new MP5 with 220 software.

1. Is the hunt group dialed directly or is it transferrred from the auto attendant? Looks like you are trying to get 3 sets ringing on incoming calls... I'd ring the first extension and have the other two ring monitor it instead of hunt group....but that's just me.

2. If it doesn't fwd to vmail when busy do you get a busy signal?

3. Default the console port, I'd remove the ext. number associated with it and reassign to receptionist phone and rebutton map.

4. Which DID is getting a busy?
Posted By: rage Re: One more - 09/06/07 08:06 AM
ok...we'll start with number 1: If i set ring monitor should it ring the extension that is monitoring? I set 1007 to monitor 1001 and it does not ring? We need to be able to hear the other 2 extensions ring as they have a group pickup for the others near the recpetionist in case she is busy.

2: No busy signal, i think this is something with vmail trans file. When i turn trace on and try it tries to forward to vmail and the mbox does a transfer back to extension.

3: the user is an idiot. It doesn't ring busy, it give the "please hold while i transfer your call" that everyone else gets.

ok...console now works. guess it freaked out when system powered down to move to customer location.

Thanks for that tip RBF.

ok, more info on the bust station vmail issue. If i set thier mbox to no transfer it works fine. However, then if i get main greeting and dial thier extension it will go straight to vmail rather than ringing the phone, even if phoe is idle.

What am I missing here? VMail is corporate office 8.5 (i know, interchange better, but that will be a year from now)

Try blind transfer in the mailbox.
Posted By: rage Re: One more - 09/06/07 08:36 AM
thats what i had it as and it fails. tahts when we get vmail trying to continuously xfer to the extension.
Posted By: rage Re: One more - 09/06/07 09:09 AM
ok...blind transfer in vmail, DID pointed to right extension AND vmail id set in DID trans table. When i run trace and call in it gives:

[c6787600000#1001#] to [1001]
dialing digits [!,,,1001]

Why is it trying to transfer the call in the first place? Half tempted to set for no transfer but then people can't go to extension from main greeting frown

Any ideas? I am lost here on this one.

Take your VM ID out of the translation table.
Posted By: rage Re: One more - 09/06/07 09:37 AM
vmail id out and still same thing. i am setting for "no transfer" and they can deal with it till tomorrow. I just sooooo dont understand why it is tryiny to transfer to the extension everytime. Very wierd.

You should not have to set VM ID as this is a PRI. You also have to set group intercom access. Another extension will not ring at yours if this is not set.
The only way it can ring is call forward but that's what you want to do!
