How good of a model was the Comdial Unisyn TS616 system? I have a friend that has one that is from his business (he switched to VOIP). My son wants to get it for his company. It has 1022S phones with it. Is this caller ID and intercom capable? I noticed that it had display phones. Thanks for your input.

Good system. Yes has intercom.

They made call id unit, but good luck in finding one. Never used the ID.

Still have several in the field.

The Unisyn is not CID compatible. Meaning, external Comdial CID devices to process the signal. It was a feature that died when they ended the product line.

Comdial made a caller id unit CID-08.

I had purchased one but never installed it.
I never took it out of the box and to this day dont even know what i done with it.

TAB001-USN DECEMBER 1994.

Software enhancements for UNISYN telephone system.

Reversion 3a.
This enhancement list several features, one being
caller ID and associated programming of the system and the unit.

As i stated before, i never tried to put it on line, nor do i know if it ever worked, but it was available, as i purchased one.

I did install one of those, and it was OK. But you also need the TX232 card to interface the CID08. System by itself is rock solid. Have an installed base of 68 of those installed, and most of them are still running.
