have hub(MP5000) and 15 nodes(FXII)

nodes keep losing connection to hub? i can ping each of the nodes IP's but get network busy while trying to intercom or check vm. have to go to the site and press the voip reset button.
hub has 4 voip l. nodes have voip s with 6 channels active at each.
all are connect to a Cisco gigabyte switch.........is that to fast for the voip cards? should i install an old 10/100 switch at each
network used to be connected via point to point but now the network has fiber running to all buildings
nodes are 17F 198.07
help?

Look at your problem like this.... When you had PTP circuits all was well with your equipment. Now you've gone fiber and I presume what you didn't say is the rest of the network has been tied to that same fiber backbone. So now, we're sharing the new pipeline with bandwidth out the wazoo and your gig switches don't care what's being pushed through. On the other hand with your VoIP "stuff", TCP is working well, because you can ping, but calls are almost none existent. Don't forget the UDP and RTP components because without these calls will not work! Bring the IT people in to check routing and delay times. Maybe they can build you some tunnels!

this companys network was connected with point to point, now each building has a 12 stand fiber connecting them.

had issue when they were point to point but not as often as it happens now.
this week we are having the IT dept. program each port on the cisco that the voips cards are plugged into to be 100 and half duplex.

board info for the hub cards. 2a,4a, nodes are the same. is that good?

no longer work for comdial dealer but many customers followed me and my ccc doesnt work

what should i ask the it people to look at ?

Hi Rotty,

If your going to support a product you need to get a dealership with Vertical/Comdial. I have some ideas of what is going on but you are living on the edge without a relationship with the manufacture. MP5000 with 15 nodes? This company needs to be with a certified dealer who can get help. We are not talking about a DSU II with 6 impact phones. Just my 2 cents.

i have been working with the comdial products since 1990. i am certified on everything they made as well as the wave and sbx. i paid for all of my classes until they became free and its upsetting that my ID no longer works. new employer doesnt like the comdial/vertical systems and i am just happy to have a job.

have set up many voip networks and never had this issue. i was just looking for ideas from other techs that may be helpful

That is kind of what I am saying. If your employer does not like comdial/vertical he should not have you messing with it on such an involved application. Now he is stuck and can not call for support. What would happen if it was the system down? Either he is in or he is out. It puts you in a tough spot. Tell him you need an advanced comdial tech from manufacturer or call another comdial dealer and work it out.

I have seen things like your issue and it is not a one sentence fix. It is a pain in the a** to find and you will need the old comdial guys left at vertical to do it.

Good luck with it.
