I have a Ring group created and would like to forward to a voicemail box after it rings a certain amount of time. I am doing this by using the overflow attendant. After it rings the phone in the overflow attendant it then tries to transfer to vm but gives message of " im sorry that is an invailid location." Then plays the main greeting. I have the intercom forward set to go to VM currently on that stations programming. Am I missing something or should I be doing it a different way? Thanks!
err what system...
prob easiest to edit trans.txt
does the xt have a mb
if it's a DX80 /120 system your building the UCD group wrong.
@dtcd21 Yes the extension has a vm box.
keyvoice/interchange i assume?
did you try resetting the switch? i've had it be something as dumb as that before, hunt groups quit ringing, got the same error you did, etc.
Yes Keyvoice Interchange.
I have not power cycled. I can definatly try that though...
The answer is going to be in the trans.txt file with using the trace. DO you know Comdial?
Jim
Yes I Do know Comdial. Been working on Keyvoice voicemails for about 5 years, certified in dx80/120, work on Dsu, dxp, fx for about 5 years as well. I havent had to modify the trans.txt for any issues in the past but I know exactly what your talking about and have viewed it many times. The answer that is in the trans.txt, what line am I looking for or ?
Thanks.
Sorry, I see using the trace command. Does it describe this in the manual?
It should. Trace is the most powerful feature on the interchange. With that and the trans.txt you can almost make it do anything.
Jim
Adding the group and mailbox to the trans.txt file has fixed the issue. Works great, thanks for the help guys!
You could have just called me directly...
