My old XP broke, and I replaced it with a Windows 7. Now, when I try to do remote programming via VMMI, modem, the modems screech at eachother, but never connect. Using same settings as I did with XP, that worked fine.
Anyone know how to make the modem work in Windows 7 for remote FXII programming?

I connect directly to using a USB to serial cable on Windows 7 64 bit. In order to get VMMI to connect I had to install VMMI in Windows XP mode. I also have to open XP mode and run VMMI from there to connect. Using the shortcut to VMMI ( XP Mode) from the Windows 7 desktop does not work.

I believe we set up our new laptops running Windows 7 to run in 32 bit mode when using VMMI

Try vmware vmlite XP. It a virtual xp that you can run on your laptop. You can get it from vmware.com. Only issue we have seen is loading software to cpu's. Other than that it seems to work ok.
