Hello, I have an Interchange 12.1 running on XP SP2 that I am trying to do a backup and restore of the database.
I am trying to load on to another XP machine just to see the current programming.
I Read the Interchange manual but could not find instructions for machines running on XP.
They all reference NT and Win 2000 and tape drives.
I have copied the entire VM file from the in service voice mail system to a thumb drive.
I have installed the 12.1 software on the second machine.
What files need to be moved and what is the proper way to move them from the VM backup file to the VM file of second machine?
I tried copy and paste, but it stops part way through indicating certain files are being used by another program.

THANK YOU!

I found it easier to Ghost the existing running drive. Otherwise I would do a fresh install of 12.1 then copy over the M and G directory as well as the trans.XXX files and vm.cfg files. It has been a long while since I did this.

I will try copying just those files.
This is an extensive auto attendant tree and I want to have all the routing boxes in front of me while I program their new Panasonic system.
Do you know, is there any way to pull out routing box greeting files separately? Export?
It would be a real time saver to be able to transfer them instead of rerecording them in the new system.
Thanks!

Sure . All greetings are listed in a format such as box800.GRT. or .DAY or .NIT. Pretty sure it's an old DOS format and I doubt it will import into the new mail system. You should be able to hook up speakers to the VM and play each greeting for audio transcription.
