NEC Aspire S KSU vs. Samsung DS 616

Looking to install system for office of 3; potential growth to 6. Automated attendant, voice mail, caller ID. Real estate developer; lots of calls at the same time to employees. Which one is best?

I know nothing about the NEC switch but the DS616 is a nice little switch.
Up to 6 trunks,12 digital,4 analog extensions built in.
Can take an in skin voicemail/auto attendant card 2 ports expandable to 4 ports. The analog extensions can also get the call display info sent to them.Look on www.samsungusa.ccom website for the specs on it.

Two different systems completely. 616 is a small digital system utilizing some of Samsungs 100's software. Apples to apples, compare the 100 to the Aspire. NEC Aspire is new with VOIP capability, DS616 does not. Expansion for the 100 is equal to the Aspire.

If the size is of the 616 is OK, and you don't need VOIP. Save some $$$$.

phoneman123 is right you should compare apples. Yes the nec price is better But the 100 is more stable and I dont think the end user quite understands the difference between voip at home and voip in the work place. as far as the 616 sli caller id is sweet but the system wont grow and I know the many that I have sold came back when they needed more than 6 c.o lines

The DS616 may not grow but you can now put the iDCS phones on it. If you do need to grow you can move up to the iDCS 100 and reuse all the phones.

The iDCS 100 currently supports VoIP Networking and Trunking. It will soon support an identical feature set as the iDCS 500. If your customer choices to go with an iDCS 100 release 1 it will be an easy upgrade to Release 2 when it comes out. The release 2 will give them VoIP keyset support.

THe Aspire S system is capable of everything you want it to do. I has an in-skin voice mail capaable of Dial by name which uses the names of extensions. Also it is VOIP capable. Handles up to 8 trunks, 16 extensions has 2 analog posrts on boad. Also it can be networked to a master or slave system using ISDN, VOIP, or a point to oint T-1

wrichey what do you mean "more stable"? I have yet to have and Aspire S crash or get corrupted, As a matter of fact I highly recommend it. And from what I gather The Aspire S is cheaper. So that is a hard choice..A phone system that IS stable, VERY flexable, and cheaper...or a Samsung

I noticed that of the two systems I have had to return more to an nec than a samsung to change a glich in the programming. This is about an opinion and i am not pitching a sale, I do sell both systems so it does not affect me like it would say someone who only relies on one product do you sell samsung??
