Hi all. Looks like a very helpful group here [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com] I just signed up for access to the manuals, but I'm unable to find what I'm looking for.

Our boss is interested in being able to press an intercom button and the receiving station simply switch on (speaker phone). I've used a Lucent based phone system that had this capability before, which was referred to as "barge in" or something like that. I'm curious if this Prostar system had the same capability.

Found it. I was looking in the wrong manual.
There are a couple of ways to accomplish it.

For the sake of the search function, here is how you do it (the most universal method):

> #20 1234 1#
> #39
> You will see a string of 16 zero's. Each one represents a station. You use the numpad to enter a code as follows:

3: can barge/cannot be barged on
2: can barge/can be barged on
1: cannot barge/cannot be barged on
0: cannot barge/can be barged on

Enter one of these values for all 16 digits

> #

The default is all zero's.

be carefull with the barge i am pretty sure
he is in on conversation of both parties
it is not service observing where you are listening only "for training purposes "
you also should address program #72
which is a barge in tone or not
1- no tone
2- intrusion tone
this system function so enter only once
if you goto tone you also have option in
#56 to set time between tones 010-990
default is 150 seconds

dutch uncle advice this feature can be a real problem to all concerned if miss used
and would well be skipped
