We put in a 7100 with 4.04a software, ox16 DLi in middle slot, two 4x0 dial tones in right slot. 211 and 213 would lose their mailboxes, No in 741.

You could call in and reset 741 but the same problem would occur again at random days/times.

Upgraded 4.04a to 4.14 and put in all data by hand again. Next morning, 211 and 213 mailbox set to no in 741.

Replaced the MP10 card. A couple days later the same problem, 211 and 213 would lose their mailboxes, No in 741.

Additional weird was that on 211 and 213 we lost the third row of button programming on those two phones. In 723 all the buttons from 1 to 10, 16 to 28 are identical. The row of 11 to 15 were all set to DS and in 722 we set the individual DSS keys for each phone.

On 211 and 213, every time the VM box disappears, so do the DS numbers. On 11 through 15 you see DS but not the numbers we programmed.

I have assumed that all control is by software and the MP10 card. Is it possible that the 16DLi card or the frame could be doing this. It doesn't seem rational that they could do this weirdness.

Any and all help would be appreciated. We have made almost a dozen free service calls on this and while the customer has been polite, they are tired of this. So are we.
I've had one reply that another dealer has this problem on two systems and Samsung told him they had never heard of the problem.

When our distributor called Samsung tech support they denied that they had ever heard of the problem of the 7100 dropping mailboxes.

Samsung refuses to replace the software or MP10, we did get a refurb MP10 from the distributor and the problem did not go away.

Has anyone else had a problem of vanishing mailboxes on a 7100? If so, please contact me here or by PM. Thanks in advance.

There is supposed to be a five year warranty on a new 7100 and it certainly seems that Samsung refuses to honor the warranty.

We have made a dozen service calls, we have certainly done our part.

We have never seen this problem and have installed many 7100s. We always turn off 740 download after the initial install. Mailbox assignments remain ON under SVM setting in OIT for extentions that have mailboxes.

As mentioned, make sure you've set the extension's mailbox to "yes" in MMC 7XX and make sure mailbox download is set to "no" in MMC 7XX.

We put in a 7100 about 6 months ago. I was the tech that "finsihed" the install. By "finished" I mean another tech put the system togther and programmed it, I was the one that went and installed it. I have noticed that every time the system loses power, 3 mailboxes do not reload upon bootup. I always have to rebuild the mailboxes and setup email gateway. I even walked the customer through doing an 815 and copying the sysdb to the mcdb, but that does not seem to help. The only other choice I can think of is to remove the OS7100 folder on the mmc, and reporgram the VM. Any suggestions. Also I would like to know if the autosave feature actually saves the DB to the MMC card at the specified time. From what I see, it does not. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Well we have a conference call to Samsung with the distributor Tues. AM. We bought a brand new 4.14 software card, installed the card, powered down on both AC and battery backup, defaulted the system, put EVERYTHING back in by had, turned off the download mailbox program no one will let you see the program number of here, and thought everything was fine.

An hour later they called and extensions 201, 203 and 204 had terrible static on them, but you could leave a message on 211 and 213 which were the problem stations before that kept losing mailboxes.

We had them power the system down, AC and battery backup. It took over fifteen minutes to reboot. When it came back up mailboxes 211 and 213 did not work. The same problem we had with the old memory card and old processor is on the new memory card and new processor.

We have stopped proposing 7100s. We have at least fourteen service calls in this one site for the same problem. The system has been defaulted multiple times, software changed, processor changed and still the same problem.

Now the distributor wants us to load new software from the Samsung website onto the old card, default the system again, and hope. I'm ready for Samsung to fly up here with a new system on their broom.

I haven't seen this issue yet but we have not installed any 7100's with the 16DLI card. Could the problem be with that or the position of the card. I remember on the OS100's we had huge problems if the MGI card was in a certain slot. took Samsung forever to acknowledge the problem.

I feel your pain. these are the installs we end up losing our shirts on.

I was wondering about actual capacity
How many properly working extensions in the system.
How many trunk ports, MGI Channels, Voicemail ports. When added up that might be pushing an envelope on time slots or something.

Additional thought
Try moving 201, 203, 204 to different physical port on the DLI. I know, old fashioned thinking but it might be worthwhile to see if the problem moves.
Only 13 twenty eight button sets on the system, no DSS, no MGI ports, two 4 CO cards on one UNI and a 16DLI2.

You can't get much more basic than 8 lines and 13 phones.

I could move phones around but don't know what that would prove. I am dropping the the same two mail boxes and the same one line of programming on two phones so it is affecting both the phone and the voicemail.

We thought we were smart waiting six months after introduction to get the bugs out. After a year and a half, it is still buggy.

Hmmm 13 phones, going with my suspicions I wonder if those slots are somehow optimized for 12 ports, you know 3 daughter boards = 12 ports
I could be wrong. This is only a theory!
To test my theory add a daughter board for 4 stations to the Uni and pull a couple stations off of the 16DLI. OR better yet remove the 16 DLI and convert the whole thing to UNI style config.
I have a site with that exact config with no problems like that. Just the time changing itself problem instead
I'm waiting for 4.22 beta to be REAL 4.XX. I will thank you for the suggestions but I don't want to go back without the last, latest software and again do it from scratch.

Thanks guys, Bunnie
