Have a 7400 with V4.30i software and a MGI 16. ITP phone will be working fine, then loses all audio, incoming, outgoing, even voicemail audio disappears. Unplugging phone usually fixes problem. Ideas anyone??

Further update and information. Customer has a 7400 with MGI16. Dedicated ADSL connection just for the telephone system (IP Phone). Configured all the appropriate ports etc. (Is there actually a manual for this somewhere on GSBN?)Anyways... IP phone works for about 5 minutes then loses audio function. If you unplug and restart it, it goes again, for about 5 minutes. Could this be a TCP/UDP port thing in the rouer settings? I have plenty of 7100's going like this but this one, with the seperate MGI, etc. is killing me... Any ideas? Thanks

can you still ping the set when the audio fails? Wondering if perhaps there's a problem with a network switch port or the set itself. POE set or power cube?

Hmmm, this sounds suspiciously close to your audio problem Here

Yes, the set replies to a ping, so the connection is still there. We are using the power adapter not PoE. We tried another IP Phone from our office and had the same result sp its not the remote site. We have another client using a 7100 with 4 phones at the remote site, and they work flawlessly. We are either having an issue with the MGI Card, router settings (i.e. Port Forwarding) or the router itself. This afternoon we are going to try a different router (Same one our other client is using). At least we know that one works.

Yes - The other post sounds like what we are dealing with. I don't see a resolution however. Although he is all LAN side which makes me wonder if its some setting in the switch / MCP.

Actually, something on the remote LAN programmed to the same IP might make sense... it would still respond to a ping during the problem. Are there other phones at the remote site that are unaffected?

No other telephones at the remote site and only about 5 computers there. We have an IP phone going here at the office for testing purposes, connected to the same 7400, and it does the same. Audio one minute, then it loses it, then it comes back. I have been through everything... ahhhhh

can you ping the phone when its unplugged? Just wondering if you are receiving a ping from another device with the same IP address.

Well, it seems to have been a router issue. We replaced the 3com that seamingly kept "falling asleep" and replaced it with a Netgear FVS338. A little more complicated to setup, but it seems to be holding on. We'll keep testing and update the thread with any new information. Thanks, Rob
