I recently had a brief power failure and many of the features on my home phone system stopped functioning properly. I've been able to fix all but one.

I used to be able to make a call on CO line 1 by simply picking up the handset and it would automatically find line 1. Now I need to press the line 1 "button" in order to get it. Also when a call would come through on line one I could simply pick up the handset and get CO line one... now I have to select the line. How do I get line 1 (CO1) to be the preferred line on all of my keysets? spydr.fleishman@comcast.net
What you need to do is make the telephone offhook selction 3** also dont forget there is timers to do in 5**
Gerrya, I know you have the best of intentions. So I am going to help you out here.

The 816 plus in the USA is an older system. Much like the metal cabinet 100. It was in service long before the prostar line and it was first called an STS.

With that said the programing is done with 2 digits instead of three. To set the hot line for the 816 keysets. You need to program "ringing line preference" and "CO line selection", "hot line/prime line" once those are complete it will work as you expect it to.
WRichey,

Your info sounds good. How exactly do I program those functions? What are the 2 digits you are referring to?

I understand that "Ring Line Preference" is MMC #17,"C.O. or PBX Line Selection" is MMC #xx, and "Hot Line/Prime Line" is MMC #xx. What do I need to enter for those. My tech manual is missing instructions for MMC #xx and MMC #xx. I've set "Ring Line Preference" to ON.
i will stand corrected wrichey not like the 816 in uk
As per our terms of service and the posting rules above. I did not post the mmc's. Please refrain from that.

The mmcs only have one of two options. After you make a station selection you need to set the lines for ones that you want to hot line prime line
Sorry,

I didn't realize that MMC's # couldn't be mentioned. I thought technician access codes were the only things that couldn't be discussed.

Still not sure where I specify that CO line 1 is to be the line that rings at all stations and automatically picks up when the receiver is lifted on incoming and outgoing calls. Where exactly is that done?

Thanks again for any help
Thanks for your help. Once I selected each extension under "Hot Line/Prime Line" to CO line 1 everything worked fine.

Many Thanks,

Lew
