Hi guys,

I need you're help, we have a officeserv PBX and there's a lot of problems with the sound when we call outside. We have many complains that we sound like we are at 20ft of the phone or we do not understand the person it's sound alot echo. The compagnie that installed the PBX doesnt know how to solved the problem. How i can solved that ? :confused:

Going to need a lot more information then that.
System model and version, line type and version of line card if isdn.
Handset type, does it happen on all phones, cabinet layout, etc

Can i have all this informations in inistallation tools ?

But so far the info i have is :

System Model: OfficeServ
Version: OS7400

Handset :

-LCD keyset DCS(many different types of bouttons : 12-24)

-Some IPs: OfficeServ SMT-I3105

-IDCS 8D

It doesnt happen on all phone but with some extension i would say 2 out of 3 times

what do you need else ?

It happen between extensions too or only with outgoig calls?

When you say it happens on some extensions, are these digital/analog/itp? Nameless is right, you need a lot more information if you plan on narrowing this down. Are you using a digital circuit like a PRI/T1, or SIP, or Pots lines?

Make sure all the 12/24 button phones are atleast v1.3 and higher.

If you bought from an incompetent dealer, find another to troubleshoot it. Parts warranty will carry over via serial numbers.

A trained tech could have your problem and solution worked out in short order. It is not the system's fault, nor should it be assumed that anyone can work on it.

The 7400 has many volume and other adjustments to compensate for overly high transmit levels that normally cause echo. In most cases, abnormal echo/volume is a telco issue, not an issue with the phone system.

You may have to upload Beta Software for the PRI to work properly. I had a similar issue with the 7200-s. There is a new TEPRIa software load
v4.27 or use the older Tepri v1.07 card
