Hello. We have a DS616 with SVMi-2E. At some point in the past, there was something reset (sounds like the key assignments) and there are a number of features/functionality that 'doesn't work like it used to'.

The latest is the ability to pick up a trunk line that is ringing at another station. I know you can dial 65+station number. However, our president states he used to be able to pick up the handset and push the button for the ringing trunk line. Now when we try this the station gives a message that it's currently busy.

Does anyone know how this many have been set up in the past to allow for this? Thanks.
Well, are the trunks labeled buttons on his phone?

If not put them there in 722 or everyone in 723

Yes, buttons 1, 2 and 3 are set to DT701, DT702 and DT703 respectively. It may be that there is a different way to link the button to that trunk, rather then DT.

When you want to dial out, you can pick up the handset and push any of those buttons to get an outside line. When an outside call rings in that button flashes and as soon as the auto attendant picks up it goes solid. This is all ok.

The functionality I'm being told is lost it that he used to be able to see the outside caller was trying to connect to a different station, and he could pick up his handset and push the button for that trunk and have it connected to him instead. I know you can accomplish it by dialing 65+station that is ringing, but he wants to be able to push the trunk button like he used to. However, when he tries that now, it gives an error that it is busy.

Technically the line would be busy as it is being transferred. Are you sure you weren't hitting the DS button to pick up the call?
After all if you could pick up a solid lit up trunk key just by pressing it and multiple trunk keys were lit up how would you know which one was ringing at an extension?Maybe the 1A2 feature on the trunks?
