Got a customer with about 20 Falcon 28 phones.
Everyday, the same 2 phones show 5 or 6 new VM messages.
Of course there are no messages.
VM logs show no activity to those phones.
Anyone know why this might be happening ?
Thanks

Not saying this is your problem but I had a 7200 that had a similiar problem.I didn't install it but took it over and the installing company used station groups that were outside the normal default numberimg plan. One was for the operator group for outside callers dialing 0.The phone with the MW button would show messages and flash but when you retrieved messages by pushing the MW button and passcode it was always "you have no new messages".Weird but then if you accessed the mailbox all by dial codes ie 549 *# 555 then the passcode the messages were there and would play. They had 80 or so messages "hidden" that way.So I ended up instead of rreworking to do an auto forward to the phones normal mailbox and problem solved.

Is it possible they are from a general mailbox and on a MW key?

Checked all the mailboxes
No go.
They're all normal.

Check the mwi settings for the mailboxes in the mailbox block in the vm (page 2 or 3)

Make sure it's set to yes and has the correct ext number listed

Both trouble ext are set properly

So there is no MW XXX key on either of these 2 phones?

Do they receive any messages at all besides these phantoms?

They receive their normal daily vm messages.
There are no MW buttons on any of the phones.

So do they have a VMMSG button and does it flash when these phantom messages are there? I assume the display is also showing these phantom messages?
Posted By: mfecko Re: 7200S SVMi issue - 08/14/14 01:19 AM
They have vmmsg buttons but no flashing. Just the display.

They have VMMSG buttons and they don't flash.
Display only is showing bogus messages.

No group mailboxes in the system at all?

Not something silly that someone dialling internal has pressed the msg button on there phone to the people who are getting the message lamp

That would tag it with a "quick memo" tag.It seems there is just an indication of a message not an actual message.

Tried removing and recreating the mailboxes?
Are they set to announce only?
Were they manually created or via the mmc command?

I am with Gerrya on this one. Seems more likely that someone is calling the phone and hitting the message button. Have them dial 43 from the phone and see where it rings. Then 42 and their own extension to cancel the light and message in the screen.

They are not messages ( 42 or 43 )
Tried that already. The display clearly says VM messages.
We've already tried deleting the subscriber via DTMF into the VM.
We then created new EXT and MBX via DTMF.
The next day, the same VM messages in the display.
We've looked at the VM logs. There were no entries for these two extensions.
We've set up SMDR ( with ICM SMDR turned on )
There was no activity to these phones.

All phones are set to ringing mode.

We already looked at 42 and 43. NG
We've deleted the EXT and MBX via DTMF.
We re-created the EXT and MBX via DTMF.
The next morning, same bogus message display.
We looked at the VM logs between end of business on one day and start of business on the next. No activity with these MBX.
We set up SMDR ( including ICM SMDR ) and saw no activity.
And it's only Ext 300 and 310. No one else.

It's a puzzle !

Sorry
I didn't realize these were rolling to a second page and I'm repeating myself

Is this system a standalone or does it have SPNet? If SPNet, the messages may reside on another system. I have had that happen.
Posted By: mfecko Re: 7200S SVMi issue - 08/16/14 12:06 PM
It is networked via SPnet.
But again the VM log files show nothing, no activity to the affected ext.
