guys.
any help appreciated here.
i've got a pushy IT administrator whos asking for DHCP options for all the IP handsets he wants to VLAN, some sort of script i guess.
does samsung support dhcp options, i've suggested vlan tagging the switch ports manually but not an option here.
cheers
The SMT handsets support option 66 and 128. I have problems with the 3105s though and sometimes have to manually configure them.
Option 66 has to be "SEC_ITP" (string format) and Option 128 is the IP of the PBX in "IP" format.
ok, great.
do you know how to browse to a phone for config?
DHCP options are done on the router/dhcp server.
hi.
yes, i just wanted a noise around the phone GUI:)
do you have the syntax for option 128
There is no syntax for opt 128, it's just set as type of IP, and you put the system ip address.
There is no option for specifying the VLAN via DHCP.
This will need to be manually setup in the phone, but you can still use PnP mode just configure the vlan information.
Nameless,
Have you ever tried LLDP-MED for setting the VLAN? I've read it's supported on all the phones besides the 3105 but i have never been successful in getting it to work.
I asked that question of samsung and was told it was not supported on OS7000. Another SCM only feature
