Hi folks,

Wondering what influences your decision to go with SIP trunking vs standard line.

Our local cable company will do their lines for as low as 9.95/ line/ month. That gives unlimited local calling and really good long distance rates.

Most SIP trunks from compatible providers run >$35/ channel/ month.

What do you look for to determine when to make SIP trunks the right choice?

Canada is a huge place, but if your Cable company is giving 9.95 lines, then it's probably the best solution. Before you paint all "SIP Trunk providers" with the same brush, you might want to examine rates more closely. Here's an example https://voip.ms/en/rates/canada Doesn't look like $35 to me. We've put hospitality into 5000 minute per month plans and have seldom exceeded the base plan. So, post back and name names :-) Let's see what you get for $9.95.

I guess, there may be an issue of interoperability.

Have you used voip.ms?

Any other Canadian Sip trunk providers folks have used reliably?

Here in Zimbabwe SIP lines are selling like hot cakes. There is still rampant copper cable thefts and the toll on replacement by the one operator is weighing heavily on them. In any case the rates are quite cheap 12c outgoing any destination and free incoming.

If you have any Sales solutions in your areas that go can be marketed on the SIP platform and I can introduce hear please help a brother out, I need the extra income.
