Hi I am upgrading an 7400 on 4.21c I managed to get a download of the db in the osdm with no problem. the LP40's (2 of them) were running 1.17. I put in a new mp40 with 4.99 software with new lp40 software (i think its called sp40 2.04) and it just hung for about 20 mins. the LP40s were flashing red and there was no activity on the MP40 at all.

I then switched off and put the old mp40 running 4.21 back in and the two lp40s are still just flashing red and hanging!!

If i connect via the sio port of the LP40 it asks for a password. Ive got a double cab 7200 thats completely down and im not sure how to rescue it!!!!

I will send you the recovery procedure.

Can you make sure dip switch 5 is OFF on the MP40.

I suspect it tried to upgrade the LP40 cards automatically.

Put the new 4.99 MP40 in.

Why 4.99 and not 5.01 out of interest?
