We have a customer that is having their IT company move all of their phone traffic to a voice VLAN. The customer has a 7400 on 4.98 sw and is using an older style phone (ITP-5121's) that supports VLAN usage. They also have digital phones that will not be affected by the VLAN addition. They have an OAS card for their VoIP traffic.

Does anyone have a document that goes over making the change to a VLAN that can be shared by email?
The IP address will need to be updated for the voice VLAN- does the IP address for the OAS card AND the MP40 need to be changed? Or just the OAS card?
Or will they need to have routing between the two VLANs so the processor and the OAS card can communicate over the network?

And I see the settings that will need to be changed for the OAS card (835/5.2.16), but are there any additional changes that need to be made?

Thanks for any useful guidance!

Don't assign the VLAN in the system programming.

Get the IT Dept to make the change on the switch ports.

The same applies with the ITP phones.
There is a firmware bug with the ITP handsets where they won't obtain a DHCP when you set them up with VLAN tagging.
I didn't discover this bug until the ITP handsets were EOL so Samsung wouldn't fix it.
The SMT phones don't have this issue.

You will need to change both the MP40 and OAS card IP Address
Possibly the SVMi20i IP address if you have that as well as the system talks to it via the LAN.
