I was removing some old cable at a job site today and found a length of Hot Pink Cat 5e. I didn't know that they made it. The IT guy wants it found something.

The color is used for no particular reason. Like any other color you can make it specfiy something. If I remember correctly, Mohawk makes this color.

Belden does too.

I did a job about two years ago for a medical group on william st. in n.y.c. was the first and last time i saw pink cable.(cat-5e)

JEA (Jacksonville Energy Authority) runs 3 cat5e to every workstation. 1 blue, 1 yellow and 1 pink. They are a huge customer and how they got started on this color scheme I'll never know.

I remember cabling a company called "Future Kids" and the colors on the C5e cable was yellow and pink. It was their company standard and related to their working with children somehow.

Just noticed some today in a bank where I was working at.

Saw pink and lime green cat5e the other day while I was putting some cameras in..I was at a fish distribution warehouse. Not sure what they were using it for. It was only 2 runs of each

Notre Dame has cable,patch cords, jack inserts,etc. with school colors along with ND on jacks/faceplates.

One of our clients, Nemours Children's Clinic was once donated 100's of thousands of feet. There clinic here in Jacksonville is full of it.

Also, Gridder is correct about JEA. Some IT guys just like it.

I believe Mohawk and Belden makes it.

I've pulled it before at a hospital. Seems like medical facilites use this color. Pink Cat5e and dark green Cat3, what a combo.

I bought a box of hot pink at Graybar when I was getting ready to wire-up my own house. I let my wife pick it out. Eventhough she'll never see it installed in the walls, she felt like she was helping . So at my house, pink = phone.
