I am making a wiring harness to go from patch panel rack to switch rack. Trying to neaten up our wiring closets.

I am taking 48 7'patch cords, removing modends and replacing with panduit jacks which plug into the patch panels. This is extremely time-consuming, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any premade harnesses that might be out there. Like patch panel to patch panel. It would save a tremendous amount of time.

Thanks!

If you're going with Panduit anyways, they have the QuickNet Copper Cabling System. Just do a search for Quicknet on their site, and then click the link on the left for the copper products.

If you are making your own harness, I would use solid cable not patch cables. The IDCs in those jacks aren't really meant for stranded wire.

Good point. Didn't think of that.

Thanks for the tip on Quicknet too, going to search right now.

Heck Yeah!!
Quicknet looks pretty sweet. Could have saved me a lot of time. I know what I will do next time.

Thanks a lot!

I am assuming you can get them in less than 50 foot sections.

Express Communications is a good bet
