Just bought one at graybar. I've been waiting for one of these for years. What a time saver! A must.
Just wondering when they may come out with a Hubble die for this tool.
If you need them now, Hubbell makes their own multi-termination tools for their jacks and 110 blocks.
I have had the AT&T 5pair punch tool for a long time. Found out about them when I was doing a large amount of data cabling. Sure does make 110 punches quick and easy!
It's definitely a good tool to have. Leviton had a promo (it's over now)where when you bought 300 jacks, you got a free JackRapid.
I'm on my second one , first one broke after a few years so I bought a new one last fall .
I must own at least six among the trucks....Signamax, Leviton 6, and Leviton 5,,,just buy the heads...they interchange to the standard handle.
Ken, I think you mean Systimax (the old ATT/Lucent/Avaya jacks)
Nope....that's the name....neat Cat 6 jack.....
OK cause I knew the name but Fluke's site does not show dies for that brand...
I really like the Jackrapid! I have Leviton 6 and Systimax 6 heads. :thumb:
I still have my 25pr amp tool. That was 30 years ago. It slices and dices better than Ron Popeil's kitchen knifes.
Graybar in Summerville gave me one of the first Five pair 110 tools ever made years ago. They Had a promo.
I thought "wow" this is great. 110 impact for free.
I was in connector haven back then.
After years of fist pounding I have a new lease on
carpel tunnel with the this tool..
believe me or not they Hidi Stoll this idea from me.
For years I could only imagined that someone and somehow came up this miniature version of a Amp butterfly tool.
Wicked good. A must for all cable professionals.
I still have never put a 25 pair connector on with an AMP tool...can someone bring one to Vegas?
Although, I still love NT BIX..... for other reasons.
It's easy
Not much different than a 710 splice.
Jeff. I will give you my old Amp tool in exchange for airfare to Vegas. I'll even bring some male and female adapters . Not the kind on stage in Vegas in which one has the trouble of knowing if it is a male or a female adapter. Kind of a color code thing in a thong.
Haha...that's an expensive trade!
Hey Jeff , you left out Commscope , my last job was all Commscope white boxes, same Avaya jacks and face plates. I like the rapid jack ,we use somany different brands of jacks ,I don't see the neeed to buy all the different heads.
I mentioned Systimax which is now Commscope
We use the jackrapid for both cat5 and cat6 inserts. We always make sure we have ours on the job. It makes the job faster and easier. Great product in our opinion.
Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but the connections terminated by my JackRapid (Cat5) started to fail regularly (2 out of 10) after a few uses...had to take out the "old fashioned" punchdown tool and go over the jacks. I stopped using it.
I had that problem with my first one , it started doing that then the handle broke
my second one is working just fine
do a search here I recall a thread from a few years ago where someone was reporting how they repaired theirs for the same problem
(mine broke before I could get around to looking for the thread )
I've done something over 150 terms with my jackrapid in the few months I've had it, Never a problem. Maybe they fixed the issue, or maybe I have not gravity tested mine enough to bring out the problem. When I took a look at mine just now, I cant see how you get the die out to replace it? Mine came with the Leviton 2p/3p/5e set.
I take that back, I've had a problem with some cables unseating before I can crimp. That is a cable/jack/user issue not the tool.
(I found this site when researching for problems with the jackrapid before I bought it.)
I had a guy tell me today that their JackRapid broke pretty soon after they got it...
